Non woven Geotech fabric, also known as geotextile fabric, is a water-permeable geosynthetic material made of synthetic fibers by needle punching or weaving. The finished product is generally 4-6 meters wide and 50-100 meters long.

CASE STUDY

  • Location – New Zealand
  • Product(s) – Non Woven Geotech Fabric
  • Application – Horse Arena Surface Stabilization

Issue

New Zealand customer approached the BPM team, hoping to come up with a solution for his racetrack.

The dust pollution where the horses pass not only damages the environment of the racetrack, but also harms the health of the spectators. The dust from the racetrack easily enters the audience’s lungs through the nose and throat. The dust raised by the horses will reduce the visibility of the racecourse and cause visual pollution. New Zealand customer wanted to purchase a product to reduce dust and help drain the racecourse.

Solution

The BPM team designed the venue according to the customer’s requirements. It is recommended to use non woven geotech fabric to help drainage, according to the design of the BPM team. The customer is very satisfied after testing. The current competition venue of the New Zealand customer consists of 5 layers. The top layer is scientifically mixed with quartz sand, Geotextile nonwoven and fiber, which can protect the feet of the horses, and there is an equestrian soft cushion below, gravel layer, small stone layer and a solid bottom layer with drainage pipes, this design not only ensures the elasticity of the site but also drains quickly.

The racecourse should have good drainage conditions. There should be annular drainage ditches along the inner side of the track and the outer side of the whole field, and the open ditch should have a leaking cover plate. The two ends of the racetrack should also be provided with drainage ditches to connect with the annular drainage ditches on the inner side of the racetrack.

Drainage blind pipes (or blind ditch) should be set up under the racetrack. The drainage volume of the venue and the amount of rainwater from the outdoor auditorium of the racetrack discharged into the annular drainage channel shall be calculated and determined. Outdoor competition grounds and training grounds should be provided with a drainage pipe network to remove accumulated water in drainage ditches, traffic ditches, etc.

The drainage system selects the confluence or diversion of domestic sewage and wastewater according to the system of the outdoor drainage system and the principle that is conducive to the recycling of wastewater.

BPM non woven geotech fabric provide the highest quality geotextiles for the containment and erosion control industries. These non woven geotech fabric form random networks to maintain dimensional stability. They resist UV deterioration, decay, biodegradation, alkalis and acids encountered naturally.

Geotextile nonwoven are used in many applications such as drainage, filtration, separation. Their role is to confine soil particles but allow liquids and gases to pass easily through them and are used to improve the performance of the environment and civil construction projects.

Combining sand and non woven geotech fabric or elastic fibers, Geotextile nonwoven can be used in racetracks to reduce dust and help drainage. Geotextile nonwoven can stabilize sand particles and help to obtain higher sliding strength and medium shear strength. A foothold not only prevents compaction, but also provides elasticity and bouncing power, helping to protect the horse’s bones and joints while reducing the risk of injury. Different proportions of geotextile and sand can be used to create foundations suitable for various conditions and can be used to create arena floors for competitions or training paddocks. It also enhances drainage and prevents settling that could result in an uneven surface.

Benefit

Non woven geotech fabric, also known as filter cloths or geotextiles, is the soil separation and filtration product primarily used in civil construction and environmental applications. In civil construction, the role of Geotextile nonwoven is to prevent the subbase soil from mixing with the particle layer and to help filter surface water to prevent stones and soil particles from passing through and migrating into the subbase.

Geotextile nonwoven have the functions of separation, filtration, protection and drainage, and have been successfully used in many fields of civil engineering, water conservancy engineering, and gardening and landscaping. The most common raw materials for the production of Geotextile nonwoven are plastic polypropylene (PP) and polyester (PET).

For applications that require particularly long Geotextile nonwoven durability, these classic non woven geotech fabric are the best solution. Non woven geotech fabric is used for filtration and separation to improve the performance and life of the particle layer. Used in ground stabilization and drainage applications to prevent layers from mixing with each other, while providing a filtering function.

Geotextile Nonwoven Functionality

  •  The good air permeability and water permeability of geotextile non-woven fabrics are used to allow water flow to pass through, thereby effectively intercepting sand loss..
  • Geotextile non-woven fabric has good water conductivity, it can form drainage channels inside the soil, and discharge excess liquid and gas in the soil structure..
  • Utilization Geotextile Nonwoven Increased soil anti-abrasive degree sum Anti-transformation ability, increased building structure determinism, improved soil mass.
  • Effective general concentration and stress, stress or decomposition, prevention soil external force action.
  • Prevention upper and lower layers of sand stone, confounding and confounding.
  • Reticular formation: Indeterminate form of fibrous formation, formative network formation, and transformative harmony.
  • High permeability — Good permeability retention under the pressure force of soil water
  • Corrosion-resistant — raw materials such as alkali or alkali, acid-resistant, non-corrosive, insect-proof, anti-oxidant
